In accordance with the ideas laid out by the Don’t Name Them concept, no names of shooters will be included. They will instead be referred to as ‘the shooter.’ Sandy Hook conspiracy theorists will be referred to as ‘hoaxers’ (unless a direct quote uses the term ‘conspiracy theorist’) in accordance with the ideas presented by Sandy Hook parent, Lenny Pozner.

Mass shootings were nothing new by 2012. The Aurora shooting occurred in Colorado in July 2012, several months prior to the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School on Dec. 14, 2012.
Rumors had already begun circulating about the Aurora shooter being a ‘mind-controlled’ patsy of the government, and theories had already been presented that some of the injured were actors, but it wasn’t until after Sandy Hook that a seemingly nascent conspiracy theory began to grip America and soon the rest of the world.
